Appointments & services

Service businesses: your service list, online booking, and no-show protection.

Service businesses (detailers, groomers, studios — anything booked by the hour) run on Appointments instead of a tee sheet. Same idea: the day, laid out, with money attached.

Your service list

Services live in Settings — each one has a name, a duration, and a price ("Full detail — 3 hours — $180"). The setup wizard asks for your first few; add or change them any time. The duration is what makes online booking honest: a 3-hour job blocks 3 hours.

Booking

  • At the counter: open Appointments, pick a time, pick the service, attach the customer.
  • Online: your website's booking section lets customers pick a service and an open slot themselves. Bookings land on your board marked online.

Getting paid

An appointment checks out through the register like anything else — the service arrives as a line item, and every tender works (card, cash, store credit, house account).

No-shows

With a card on file saved by the customer, you can charge a no-show fee when someone simply doesn't turn up. The fee is bound to that specific appointment — a saved card can never be charged for anything it wasn't explicitly set up to cover — and it shows on the customer's history like any charge.

Tip: keep service durations honest, even the awkward ones. A 45-minute service booked as 30 minutes ruins the whole afternoon's board.
